Climate Series Tides of Change: Our Coast, Our Future
Our 2026 Climate Talk Series is brought in partnership with York Public Library and the York Land Trust to present educational talks on various aspects of climate change. This year, we are hosting events that focus on our coast and the changes a shifting climate brings, as well as ways to protect our beautiful coastal home.
4th Annual Climate Action Fair
Affordable Solutions for York Households
On Saturday May 2nd, YRCA will host our 4th annual Climate Action Fair. Our focus this year will be on affordable solutions for York Households.
Tour of Homes
Each year, YRCA hosts a series of open homes highlighting the latest in sustainable and energy-efficient design. These tours feature real-world solutions, from smart retrofits to net-zero builds, and offer a firsthand look at how efficiency works in everyday living. Homeowners are on site to share their experience, answer questions. It’s a great opportunity to see home efficiency in action and gather practical ideas for your own space.

Viewpoint Fundraiser
In 2025, YRCA hosted it’s first community fundraiser. This was possible due to the generous donation of the Viewpoint event space. It was the perfect backdrop to celebrate our community and work.

Sea Change: Peril in the Gulf of Maine (Documentary Screening)

Coastal Flooding Community Science in Southern Maine w/ GMRI

Join us for an event focused on understanding and documenting coastal flooding in Maine. The Gulf of Maine Research Institute and the National Weather Service have partnered to launch the Coastal Flooding Community Science Project, this initiative brings together local residents to track water levels, weather conditions, public experiences, and photos of flooding to better understand local impacts, improve flood alert systems, and strengthen coastal resilience.

Sea Change: Survival in the Gulf of Maine (Doc. Screening)

In Part 3: Survival in the Gulf of Maine, now at a crossroads for the future of the Gulf of Maine and our oceans, Indigenous peoples and scholars practice climate resilience and adaptation, scientists track developments, and entrepreneurs find new ways to make a living from the sea.
