York Ready for Climate Action is offering this free service to help York reach our community-wide climate goals as set out in the York Climate Action Plan that was strongly approved by voters in 2022. Buildings represent 3/4 of York’s total greenhouse gas emissions, and cutting emissions from our homes is a top priority.
The Plan’s goal is to cut emissions by 50% by 2030 and 100% by 2050. It’s a tall order. To be successful, we’ll all need to help each other switch our homes and cars from fossil fuels to electricity and to move toward clean power sources as the State continues to develop solar and other clean technologies.
