We now know the natural landscapes that surround us are a huge part of the solution to the Climate Crisis. Understanding how our salt marshes, forests and wild places work as carbon sinks will help to mitigate this crisis and needs to happen now. As we convert to clean energy and lower our GHG emissions we must also set aside and protect these valuable places here in York.

With a deep reverence for trees, native plants and living soil in our public spaces and our own yards can help regenerate wildlife populations including vital insects and our beloved birds.

Working with nature to restore the balance of the carbon cycle will lead us to clean air, water and a healthy planet for all.
